- 1/2 cup soft butter
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 3 eggs, separated
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 squares semi-sweet baking chocolate
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1 10-inch unbaked pie shell
Cream butter and sugar. Add egg yolks 1 at a time, beating well after each addition.\
Add Salt, cornstarch, and chocolate; mix well.Stir in buttermilk.
Beat egg whites until stiff; fold into buttermilk mixture.
Pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake at 425 degrees F for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees F for about 30 minutes or until custard is set.
